I've been a small business owner, too.

Long before starting Crooked River Bookkeeping, I spent years helping build and run a plumbing business. That experience gave me a firsthand understanding of what it really takes to own a small business—the long days, the financial decisions, the uncertainty, and the responsibility that comes with keeping everything moving forward.

Like many small businesses, ours was deeply affected by the economic downturn surrounding the 2008 recession. It was a challenging chapter, but it also became a turning point in my life.

That experience showed me just how important it is for business owners to understand their finances, know where their business stands, and have reliable numbers when difficult decisions need to be made.

Eventually, I decided to return to college and earn my degree in accounting. It was a natural fit—combining my interest in numbers with the real-world business experience I had already gained.

Today, I bring both perspectives to Crooked River Bookkeeping. I understand the numbers, but I also understand the person behind the business.

I know what it's like to be the one making the decisions, worrying about cash flow, managing expenses, taking care of customers, and wondering whether you're making the right financial choices.
